Teeth Whitening in Brampton
Custom take-home whitening trays, made for your teeth and supervised by your dentist.
Whitening that fits your life, and your teeth
Coffee, tea, red wine and the years all leave their mark. Take-home whitening at North Bramalea Dental uses trays made from a scan or impression of your own teeth, so the whitening gel sits exactly where it should and stays off your gums. You whiten at home, on your own schedule, with a dentist checking the result.
Before recommending whitening, Dr. Toghrul Ibrahimli, General Dentist, examines your teeth and gums, notes your current shade and talks through what you are hoping for. If something else needs attention first, you will hear about it before you spend anything on whitening.
How take-home whitening works
- Assessment. An examination, a shade check and a few questions about sensitivity. Cavities, gum disease or existing sensitivity are treated first.
- Your trays. We take an impression or digital scan and have thin, custom trays made. At the fitting we check comfort and coverage and show you how much gel to use.
- At home. A short daily session with dentist-prescribed gel, usually over about two weeks. The exact schedule depends on your teeth and the strength we choose together.
- Check-in. We compare your shade against the starting point and plan any touch-ups. Your trays are yours to keep, so a top-up later only needs more gel.

Is teeth whitening safe?
When it is supervised by a dentist and used as directed, whitening is generally considered safe for healthy teeth. The most common side effects are temporary sensitivity and mild gum irritation, which usually settle once treatment ends. If you notice either, we can shorten the wear time or change the gel strength.
Two limits worth knowing. Whitening lightens natural enamel only, so fillings, crowns, veneers and bonding stay the colour they are. And some stains, such as those from certain medications or an injured tooth, respond poorly to whitening. In those cases we will talk about alternatives such as bonding or veneers.
Questions patients ask about whitening
How long do the results last?
It varies from person to person. Diet, smoking and how well the teeth are cleaned all play a part. Because you keep your custom trays, a short touch-up later is simple.
Does teeth whitening hurt?
Most people feel nothing. Some notice temporary sensitivity during treatment, which we can help manage.
Is whitening covered by insurance or the CDCP?
Whitening is cosmetic, so it is generally not covered by private dental plans or the Canadian Dental Care Plan. We confirm your coverage before treatment.
Why custom trays instead of a kit from the store?
Store kits use one-size trays, so gel can leak onto the gums and miss parts of the teeth. Custom trays fit your teeth, the gel is dentist-prescribed, and a dentist checks your mouth first, which is the part a box on a shelf cannot do.
